Annual Meeting and Banquet
by Keith Fletcher
The annual meeting and banquet was held on November 5th at the Ford Idaho Horse Park restaurant. The theme for the evening was Illuminate the Night. The evening was filled with good food, good friends and great music by the band Sweetbriar. There was plenty of time to eat, visit, and kick up our heels to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the association. The silent auction was a big success. Many thanks to all those who donated items. A big thank you to all the bidders of the evening – your generosity helps us to keep supporting our outreach.
The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the newly elected board members and the presentation of the Ambassador awards. The elected board members are Brian Harper-Tibaldo, Josh Cram, Terri Franich, and Rocky Widner.
The first Ambassador award was given to the mare Asset’s Ace of Spades. Her owner, Grace Lawson, has been competing for the past few years on Ace. Ace and Grace compete on a regular basis in northern Idaho and have won numerous prizes. They are an amazing team and do a fantastic job representing the Blazer breed. Grace talks about Blazer horses to everyone.
The second Ambassador award went to Katharine Cram, Secretary/Treasurer. Katharine has given 10 years of generous service as a board member and volunteer for the many events held in Idaho and Utah to promote the Blazer breed.
