horsemanship and family participation. Since 1949, Westernaires has proudly trained young people to use their
talents and skills in the best traditions of the West.
Westernaires is a mounted precision drill organization composed of Denver-area youngsters. It has
provided training in western riding, precision drills, and horse care for over 70 years. Some members also elect
to receive training in specialty acts such as trick riding, Roman riding, and dressage.
The Western Heritage Show
On Wednesday, July 19, Westernaires is celebrating the National Day of the Cowboy with their Western Heritage Show. This free event highlights the Wild West experience and will feature some of the Westernaires Red and White division horseback drill teams, exciting specialty acts, and interactive experiences for everyone.
The mission of the event is to show and give opportunity for people to see and learn about horses who would not typically have that opportunity. The show is during the day on July 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and is a free community-service event.
Specially tailored for summer camp groups, child daycare classes, and adult daycare groups, this fun-filled, inclusive event offers 30-minute long, unique, action-packed shows every 45 minutes with horseback shows (trick, drill, pony acts, liberty, dressage, etc.) alternating with ground shows (whips, dancers, batons) with our younger teams performing these acts. The indoor shows are held in a climate-controlled
environment.
Activities are offered for all ages. Outdoor fun like the petting zoo, face painting, and interactive learning opportunities make the Western Heritage Show a smash hit with kids and adults alike.
Aside from the performances, there will also be booths for learning including parts of the horse, grooming boards, farrier, bits, and fun booths like face painting, coloring, petting zoo, and games. In addition, the Westernaires museum will be open for tours.
Bring a picnic lunch and stay for the fun!
