Cute stocky mare for sale. This little mare has a big motor. Controllable and soft, but not for the timid or someone that would like to go for a nice slow easy trail ride. She can be a bit of a bully, but call her on it and she is great. My other mother was given misinformation when she bought this mare a year ago. She is not for a granny!
I’ve had her for the past week and this is what I have learned:
PROS:
GOOD WORK ETHIC
SMART
Quick footed
Athletic
Stands tied well
Good with feet
Easy to tack and bridle
Loads great
Big motor
Can be roped off
Great on cows
CONS:
She can be pushy on the ground
Hard to catch in big pasture
She snorts at stuff a lot but doesn’t do anything
Bratty at times
Sassy is 10 years old, 14.2 hands and stocky. Was told she had papers, but the guy that sold her never produced them, so selling as grade. She neck reins well, soft to leg yields has a great little western pleasure jog. She seems to like working cattle. She has a big walk and big motor. She seems to prefer men from what I’ve seen. Had a female friend climb on her Tuesday who is a tiny little thing and she got along with her just fine.
Sassy is not for a beginner or timid rider. She knows who she is and needs reminders that human is in charge. I think she would make a cute 4H horse for a kid that can handle a little more horse. She also be a great little Gymkhana horse, she is quick. I think she would also make a great little heeling mare. Has a big stop. She’s good on trails and covers ground. Was told she was used for ranch work, and from I’ve seen that seems pretty true. Threw a rope off her and she didn’t care. Will take her tomorrow to roping to see how she handle it.
She does have a scar on right hind fetlock. And short strides on the leg a little bit but no pain.
Student in picture is 6’2″
