Onset of Clinical Signs: 8/16/2023
Clinical Signs: Tachycardia Tachypnea Mild lip droop Facial (muzzle) tremors – persistent symmetrical Hind end paresis and loss of proprioception – symmetrical Wide base stance, weight shifting of hind limbs but no forward motion, will park out/try walking with front but hind will not follow; dorsal fetlock on ground; extremely ataxic when walking was attempted (crossing limbs). Penile protrusion – intermittent. Cranial nerve exam: I – able to smell treat II – menace, PLR in tact III – PLR in tact IV – eye position normal V – face is symmetrical, palpebral in tact, facial sensation normal VI – eye position normal VII – blink in tact VIII – eye position normal IX – did NOT test gag reflex X – did NOT test gag reflex XI – trap muscles normal appearance, no spasm or atrophy XII – able to swallow treat but took a bit almost like he was avoiding, owner reports eating some hay okay but did spit some out
