The Blazer Horse Association was founded by Neil Hinck and his family in 1967. The foundation sire, Little Blaze, was the first official horse registered in the Association. The Hinck family members helped manage the registry and grow the Blazer name through breeding, training, showing, and assisting other Blazer owners.

As registered horses, owners, and friends began to spread across the country, the association needed to expand and change to meet the needs of its members. In 2006, the Blazer Horse Association was incorporated and became the American Blazer Horse Association. We celebrated the tenth anniversary of this landmark in 2016 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.

Since this year marks the 50th year since the Blazer breed began, we will be celebrating again. The November annual meeting and banquet is going to be a celebration that all members and friends will want to attend. We will also be accepting donations for auction items and for a live band and other entertainment. If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact Rocky Widner, the current ABHA president. http://blazertimes.wixsite.com/blazer
