Home » Blog » News

OHSET stands for Oregon High School Equestrian Teams. OHSET is a fun competitive sport for those who love to ride horses and compete for their school. The state is divided into 8 districts with each district having three competitive meets for the season. The riders work hard to qualify for the State meet held in May. There are 25 different classes and the rider chooses 5 individual classes to compete in. Some of the classes are Showmanship, Reining, Trail, Driving, Barrels and Breakaway Roping. Riders can compete in up to 6 team events such as Drill, Team Penning, Team Canadian Flags, In Hand Obstacle Relay and Working Pairs. OHSET is a 6 month sport (Dec-May) with rider dedication and parental support a must to make it work. Check out the webpage for more information: www.ohset.com.
